Caring for your jewellery

Sterling Silver is made up of 92.5% pure Silver and 7.5% copper. The copper gives it strength, as 100% pure silver is too soft and marks easily.

The best way to keep your sterling silver looking bright is to wear it! Your skin’s natural oils, plus the rubbing on clothing will naturally keep it looking good. There are some factors which can lead jewellery to tarnish faster, these include environmental factors, such as humidity, as well as some individual differences in our skin.

Please wear your jewellery often, however, remember to take it off if you go into a pool or to the gym. Store your jewellery in a zip lock bag with as little air inside as possible.

If you do need to clean your sterling silver you can do this either with a polishing cloth, or in a bowl with some warm water and mild detergent, just gently clean your jewellery with a baby’s toothbrush.

While all stones including opals are ok to get wet. Opals are a more brittle stone, similar hardness to glass, so you do need to be careful they don’t get knocked. We recommend all jewellery being removed before sleep, swimming, cleaning, exercising etc.

Jewellery and Children

We take great pride in how meticulously each piece of jewellery is made, including a fixed- clasp, non stretchy, and high quality parts.

Whilst our jewellery is durable, it is not indestructible.. Please supervise your children while they wear our jewellery.
